They will not completely silent a washer/dryer, but WILL reduce the vibration and mech. noise substantially. Mouse pads and/or rubber pads don't work as well. If you're in doubt, research Sorbothane and why it's been around for a while. The anti-walk pads don't have a fabric side to them, so they stick in place. The 'original' version has a fabric-like section stuck to the Sorbothane and it can slide on a floor to aid in placing the pads to the washer/dryer. This review is from: Silent Feet (Combo Pack) - Original & Anti-Walk Vibration Pads for Washing Machines and Dryers Based on reviews, I was hopeful these would reduce the vibrations caused by the HE Washer in our second floor laundry and I was not dissappointed. It actually worked better than I expected. We used to be able to feel the vibrations throughout the second floor, but with these installed the vibrations are reduced to the point where you can just notice them outside the laundry room.This combo pack worked great as well. One pack has 4 non-slip feet, the other has two that slip and two non-slip. We pulled the dryer out and tipped the washer up in the back and then the front to get the 4 non-slip under it and then put two slipping feet under the back feet of the dryer, slid it back into place and put the two remaining non-slip under the front. It would have been very difficult to get 4 non-slip feet onto both machines. It was hard to bring myself to pay this much money for eight rubber feet, but I'm very happy with how well they work. We recently moved from a home with the laundry in the basement to one on the main floor. Our front load washer would "walk" on the level concrete basement floor. No amount of leveling (used Internet tips) stopped this. Now we have the laundry pair on an expensive tile floor and next to nice wood cabinets. We could not have the "walking" and noise. Consumers report indicated no real improvement in their testing of many products. Yet as a mechanical engineer, I understood the "layering" of different frequency response materials to isolate and mitigate energy transmission. On moving day I followed the instructions and had no additional adjustments to make. The only downside was that the company indicated that Amazon was offering a better price on the Combo Pack and this was not true. Same price as the manufactures web page, yet free shipping and ease of ordering made Amazon my choice. We could not be happier with the results (and we are picky people) |
