This MX Model 13 Gallon Touchless Trashcan equips with enhanced sensor functionality and a wide opening for larger debris. As your hand or debris enter the zone 6 inches from the infrared sensor on top of the trash can, the lid will automatically open. The lid will remain open if debris or hand is within the 6 inches range of the infrared sensor. 3 seconds after your hand moves away from the lid, it closes automatically. At the top front of the lid there are open and close buttons for manual operation, and there is a on/off power switch at the back of the trash can. This MX Model has a wide opening (11.75รข€ diagonal) lid for larger debris, redesigned stronger lid hinge mechanism, air-escape holes for effortless trash bag removal, and carry handle for easy mobility. Fits any regular 13 or 18 gallon trash bag. Comes with bag retainer ring to secure and hide the trash bag inside the trash can.

I was skeptical about all the mixed reviews after reading all of them. However this trash can is great! The lid works just fine, and holds open long enough to throw everything in there. I do not think it slams down as other reviewers have said. It simply shuts close. It is not loud. I did learn one thing from the other reviews, and that is why I chose to go with this extra-Wide square design. Not sure how big the opening size is of the other cans, but this opening size is adequate for fitting say juice bottles, larger containers and such. I was initially going to purchase the adapter, but 4 D size batteries work just fine. The 13 gallon size fits enough trash so that I am not running out to the receptacle every other day. I'm very picky & I don't understand why anyone wouldn't love this trash can. I loved it and everyone else loved it. I had to buy another one because someone acidentally broke the lid. It is actually much quieter than the original and the lid is definitely much wider. The new look is simple which I like a lot. Everyone who comes over likes this one way a lot better than the old one. I bought this one from Amazon because it was cheaper than buying it directly from the manufactures website. I would recommend this trashcan to anyone who doesn't want to always touch their trashcans. The sensor works OK but you have to pause just a split second while you wait for the lid to open. This can is really good if you have a phobia for touching lids; other than that I cannot recommend this as a main trash can in the kitchen because the automatic lid is gimmicky at best.The lid opens in less than a second with a quiet whir like a remote controlled toy car and shuts with a thud. It's a bit on the cheesy robotic side so I wouldn't put this out in my kitchen as the main trash can (I bought a Simplehuman 13-gallon stainless steel can for that). My only gripe is the can should have an option of opening well by hand and not relying always on the battery/power source. |
