The solid clear handle serves not only as a comfortable grip but to keep it perfectly clean. It harbors no bacteria and allows you to easily see if the head of the brush is as clean as you want it. If particles wedge between the bristles or it seems dirty at the bristles' base, that's very easy to spot through the clear head and the brush goes into the dishwasher where it cleans beautifully.The bristles are a medium stiffness. Enough to be effective with most stuck on stuff, but also pliable to get into corners. They do not get splayed out after much use like many other dish brushes do. The one downside is that this size head is a little too large to get into some places narrower brushes manage, but that is a minor point with me. The brush lasts much longer than others (and I've tried many) because I can keep it completely clean and the bristles hold their shape. I keep three in use at this point, two for dishes because one is usually in the dishwasher, and a third for vegetables because it's effective for cleaning those too. The brush comes in various colors so I can tell them apart. When I purchased here, I didn't see a color choice, but I have other colors from other sources. Highly recommended if you want a really clean brush that's comfortable to hold and effective.
